Task-Centric Help Systems

Topic:
Help functionality is usually the last line of defense for making your application user-friendly. Unfortunately it’s often the last priority! By making creative use of widely-available technologies we can easily set up a repeatable framework for providing helpful information that is just-in-time, relevant, and best of all—gets us (developers) out of the business of drafting help content. Presentation will demonstrate how to create task-centric help articles, frequently asked questions, and a rudimentary but powerful search function.

Bio:
Jeromy has been programming with ColdFusion and Fusebox for 8 years, becoming a proponent of database-driven, highly-configurable websites. He holds an honors Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Longwood College, where he graduated Cum Laude. Jeromy makes his home in Alexandria where, through a power-sharing arrangement, his girlfriend and cat run his life.
